USC is a perfect fit for Lane Kiffin. He’s worked there before and USC’s prestige combined with his ability to recruit will lead to some great success. I don’t think Tennessee was a good fit for him and I don’t think he would have lasted long there anyway.

The Sooner Tiger Tells the Truth the Better

I have said this before in my blog: America is a very forgiving country. America will forgive Tiger Woods as soon as he tells the truth about what happened the night of his car accident. Once he does so he can go back to playing golf and everyone will forget about what has occured. Everyone wants to see him doing what he does best and that is playing golf not dodging the truth.

Why did John Wall leave NC?

Why did Roy Williams and Coach K let John Wall leave North Carolina? North Carolina has always had a good history of college basketball and basketball talent. John Wall would have been a good adition to a long list of great players who came out of North Carolina. He should be wearing Duke blue or Carolina blue instead of Kentucky blue. Even if he would gone to NC State or Wake Forest that would have been better than Kentucky. On the flip side however John Wall probably would not have stayed in North Carolina long. Also he fits well with John Calipari’s style and his personality. Calipari has produced many players who are one and done.

Crimson Dynasty

I believe the next big dynasty in sports is Alabama football. Most of there defense is returning and so is most of their offense. Nick Saban is a great recruiter and with Florida losing Urban Meyer there will be no one to stop them from dominating the SEC and all of college football.

A Cool Idea For Pro Basketball

Recently Stephon Marbury signed with a pro basketball team in China. There are many foreign players in the NBA now. I believe that basketball is slowly growing in popularity and may soon be as global as soccer. I also think there are a few things that need to happen for this prediction to come true. First a high profile player from America will need to go overseas and play in Europe or Asia. When I say high profile I am talking about a player like LeBron James or Kobe Bryant. Second FIBA must have more authority over basketball all over the world. In my opinion they should also switch international rules with NBA rules because Americans did invent basketball after all and the game should be played by our rules. Basketball teams from other countries must also get more exposure in America by having exhibiton games with NBA teams. Maybe some day in the future there will be an international tournament where the Lakers will be playing the Shanghai Sharks for the championship of the world.

Is it such a surprise that Mark McAwire took steroid? People have been calling it for years we have just been waiting for him to tell the truth. This situation could have been better if McGwire would have told the truth when the whole steroid scandal began. America is very forgiving as long as you tell the truth.

NFL Semi-Finals

Here are my predictions for the rest of the playoffs.

Colts over Jets: The Colts won’t make mistakes like the Chargers did and the offense of the Colts is more high-powered than the Chargers’ offense.

Vikings and Saints: I predict that the Vikings defense will put the Saints offense out of rhythm and their offense is too versatile for the Saints defense. The Vikings will handle the Saints easily.

A Texas Loss Would Have Made for a More Exciting BCS Championship

If Nebraska would have beat Texas on Saturday the the bowl series would have gone into complete chaos. The national championship game would have been between Alabama and TCU, Cincinatti, or Boise State. Alabama is most likely going to kill Texas. It will not even be a competition. If TCU, Cincinatti, or Boise State were in the championship it would be a closer game because all three of those schools have something to prove. Imagine how exciting it would be to see a school from a non-automatic bid conference win a national championship and show the country that it does not take prestige to win it all.

Why Was Derek Jeter Not the AL MVP?

I think that Derek Jeter should have definately been the AL MVP. He led his team to a World Series and had the best season of his career. He also was a clutch player for the Yankees during the playoffs. He performed well every game even if his teamates did not. I do have to give Joes Mauer his due though hitting .365 is pretty tough but the Twins could replace Mauer with someone else and be just as good. Derek Jeter’s leadership and coolness under pressure make him irreplaceable,

My Steelers Grudge

I have never been a big fan of the Steelers and I have never known many Steelers’ fans. Since they have won last years’ super bowl however it seems like there is more and more of them around. I think that there are a lot of people jumping on the bandwagon. It’s easy to support a team if they are winning. Another reason I can not stand the Steelers is because they beat the Chargers in last year’s playoffs. We always have the most trouble with the Steelers of all the teams in the NFL. I still can not remember the last time we beat them. I also remember last year during the Super Bowl on one play a player form the Cardinals was trying to get up after a play was over and James Harrison kept pushing him over. I won’t support a team who advocates this kind of unsportsmanship. So now it is good to see the Steelers lose. They are 6-6 and they might not even make the playoffs. The Chargers are 8-4 and are in pretty good shape approaching the final 4 games.
